This year, the Marie Dressler Foundation today handed out four bursaries at $1500 each to four students from Northumberland High Schools - this year three from Cobourg and a sturdent from Warkworth who attended Northumberland East High School in Brighton. Each winner is a student graduating from Grade 12 in 2016 and intends to pursue a further education in this field.
Here are brief resumes of the winners.
As previously announced, the Foundation is working to completely renovate the Marie Dressler Museum. Actually, a better description would be that the museum is being completely rebuilt from scratch. Unfortunately, this means that it will be closed from late May until it reopens. There will be no access to any exhibits during that time.
But on September 24th, 2016, there will be a grand re-opening with celebrations to mark the event. Stay tuned for more news on this.
